Edward A. Davis
Founder | 1978-2020
When Edward A. Davis founded Advance Installations in 1978, his vision was simple: build a company known for integrity, exceptional craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the health and safety of both employees and customers. That vision became the foundation of one of Northern Nevada's most respected environmental remediation and general contracting companies.
Long before asbestos became widely recognized as a serious health hazard, Ed made the conscious decision to install only asbestos-free products. As environmental concerns grew, he expanded his expertise through specialized training in asbestos inspection, bulk sampling, management planning, and project design. In 1987, he founded Asbestos Control Management and became Nevada's first OSHA-licensed asbestos abatement contractor (License C0001), helping establish the professional standards that continue to guide the industry today.
Committed to continuous education, Ed ensured both he and his team remained at the forefront of asbestos, lead, and mold abatement practices as regulations evolved. His expertise earned the trust of homeowners, contractors, schools, businesses, and public agencies throughout Northern Nevada and California.
In 1991, Ed expanded Advance Installations by obtaining a general contractor's license, allowing the company to provide complete renovation, restoration, and construction services in addition to environmental remediation. His leadership created a company capable of guiding customers through every phase of a project with confidence and professionalism.
Although Ed passed away in 2020, his legacy lives on in every project completed today. Advance Installations remains proudly family-owned, carrying forward the values he built the company on: integrity, safety, quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and treating every customer like family. Every member of the team is committed to preserving and maintaining the reputation and trust Ed worked so hard to earn.

Advance Installations is led by a team with decades of experience in both abatement and construction.
Jennifer Laguna, Owner | President
Having worked in nearly every position within Advance Installations since joining the company in 2001, Jennifer Laguna brings firsthand knowledge of every aspect of the business. From answering phones as the company's receptionist to leading daily operations as Owner and President, her experience allows her to understand both the customer's perspective and what it takes to successfully deliver every project.
Growing up in a family business founded by her father, Jennifer learned early that trust is earned through honesty, communication, and consistently doing the right thing. Today, she proudly continues that legacy by helping homeowners, contractors, businesses, schools, and public agencies navigate projects that are often stressful, unexpected, and highly regulated. Jennifer believes every customer deserves clear communication, dependable guidance, and a team that remains engaged from the first phone call through final project completion.
Under Jennifer's leadership, Advance Installations continues its long-standing commitment to quality workmanship, environmental safety, and exceptional customer service while remaining deeply involved in the Northern Nevada community. The company proudly supports organizations including the Veterans Guest House, Make-A-Wish Foundation, local schools, and numerous community programs.
Away from work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, camping, gardening, traveling, and hosting backyard gatherings. She also enjoys many of Northern Nevada's favorite traditions, including Hot August Nights and the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off.
Jennifer is honored to continue the family legacy and remains committed to helping customers create safer, healthier homes and businesses for generations to come.
Tom S. Davis, Co-Owner |Vice President, Manager of Operations
Since joining Advance Installations in 2001, Tom Davis has played an integral role in the company's continued growth and success. As Co-Owner and Vice President, he combines decades of estimating, project management, and field experience to help customers confidently move from planning to project completion.
Tom works closely with homeowners, contractors, businesses, and public agencies to develop accurate estimates, practical solutions, and realistic project expectations. His hands-on construction knowledge allows him to identify potential challenges early, coordinate multiple trades effectively, and help projects move forward safely and efficiently with fewer surprises along the way.
As the son-in-law of founder Edward Davis, Tom is proud to continue the family tradition of honesty, integrity, and treating every customer with respect. He is committed to preserving the reputation Advance Installations has earned throughout Northern Nevada by ensuring every project reflects the company's high standards for workmanship, communication, and customer care.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys camping, golfing, hunting, and spending time outdoors with family and friends. His appreciation for Northern Nevada and the people who call it home continues to inspire his commitment to serving the community.
Tom is proud to help lead the second generation of Advance Installations and remains dedicated to providing dependable service customers can trust.
Kayla Bartels, Accounts Payable & Payroll Manager
Since joining Advance Installations in 2014, Kayla Bartels has become an essential part of the team, helping ensure the company's daily operations run smoothly behind the scenes. Her attention to detail, organizational skills, and dependable work ethic support both the office and field teams, allowing projects to stay on schedule and employees to receive the support they need.
As Accounts Payable and Payroll Manager, Kayla oversees payroll, accounts payable, and numerous administrative responsibilities that help keep Advance Installations operating efficiently. Her commitment to accuracy and willingness to step in wherever needed reflect the teamwork and customer-first culture that has defined the company for decades.
Kayla's professionalism, positive attitude, and dedication contribute to the dependable service customers have come to expect from Advance Installations. She takes pride in supporting a company that values integrity, accountability, and treating employees and customers like family.
Outside the office, Kayla enjoys spending time with her six children, including an energetic set of twins. She also loves traveling, camping, relaxing at the lake, and anything Disney. Her love for family, adventure, and creating lasting memories reflects the warmth and positivity she brings to the workplace every day.
Mike Evens, Senion Construction Estimator
Since joining Advance Installations in 2011, Mike Evens has built his career through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Beginning as a carpenter in the field, he gained valuable hands-on construction experience before advancing into his current role as Senior Construction Estimator, giving him a practical understanding of both planning and execution.
Mike works closely with homeowners, contractors, and businesses to develop accurate estimates and practical solutions that help projects move forward with confidence. Because he understands what happens both on the jobsite and in the estimating office, he is able to identify potential challenges early and provide realistic expectations that help reduce surprises during construction.
His attention to detail, construction knowledge, and commitment to quality workmanship make him an invaluable resource for customers planning renovations, restoration projects, and commercial construction. Mike takes pride in helping every project begin with a solid plan built on experience, communication, and trust.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys making the most of Northern Nevada's beautiful outdoors. Whether he's snowboarding, camping with family and friends, or simply spending quality time with his loved ones, he appreciates every opportunity to create lasting memories.
